Lars and the Real Girl

This is an independent film about Lars, who lives in his brother's garage. Lars' dad was depressed and died and it traumatized Lars into his own depression and weirdness. Lars avoids hanging out with his brother and human contact in general. But he orders a "love doll" and treats her like a human. A foreign human in a wheel chair that only he can hear speak. His family thinks he's insane, but the entire town (it's a really small town) decides to play along with and take the girl out on the town and do fun things. She's kind of a celebrity. Lars gets jealous at first and then gets confused by his feelings for a girl who hits on him at work. The movie has incredible potential to be hokey, but is NOT and is honestly a tear-jerker. Whoever put this film together was a genius. It was REALLY good. It was kind of a depressing comedy with a pretty happy ending. I would recommend the heck out of this film.
