The Lives Of Others

Movie based before the break up of East and West Germany. People are being bugged and wire tapped. A famous director has been blacklisted from working, so his successor is being monitored for anti-East German sentiment. The movie is long and creepy, sort of intentionally since that's kind of how life was around the East Germans back in the day. Lots of drab colors and no one gets terribly excited. (I turned 14 here – there was a big ole pair of boobs thrown randomly in the middle of the movie. – Guess East Germany wasn't all bad, now was it? Ha ha ha)
